Who are Zao Hollands?
Kathy and Timothy Brasby are doing a mom and son project together. Kathy has shown Hollands before but retired for a few years. When Timothy decided he wanted to show rabbits, we jumped in together.
Thank you to some Holland breeders who have helped us get re-started in Hollands. We have some of their rabbits in our barn.
Thanks, also, to all our Hollands & Friends who have welcomed us back to the show tables.
Where are we located?
We've set up our barn near Fort Morgan in northeast Colorado. We are not in the mountains but on a clear day, we can see the snowy tips of the peaks from here. We're on the plains, surrounded by alfalfa and corn. Not the place for allergies...
What are we working on?
We have torts, blacks, blues, and brokens in our herd. We've just gotten our first litter from a black otter doe and are tinkering with the black otter genetics. If you're a black otter Holland breeder, we'd love to hear from you.
We're breeding for bulky, wide, thick type and good heads. You know, the perfect Holland. LOL! We like to be competitive on the show tables but mostly we like to see our friends and talk about our Hollands.
What is a "Zao"?
That's an ancient Greek word that means "to live." We embrace the joy of life and, as followers of Jesus, feel his pleasure in our lives. We enjoy our rabbits - and our time with fellow rabbit breeders - and that's a part of what it means "to live!"
